Incheon Hires 1,439 Grade 7–9 Officials as Administrative Reorganization Raises Demand
Incheon confirmed the hiring of 1,439 local government officials as its administrative reorganization expands the city’s basic local authorities from two counties and eight districts to two counties and nine districts. With nearly three times last year’s 507 hires, the applicant-based competition rate fell from 6.4 to 3.3 candidates per place, the lowest in five years, and several job categories remained underfilled. The city attributed the decline to the unusually large intake rather than avoidance of public-sector work and said job training would prevent operational gaps.
