Hotter U.S. Core CPI Raises Rate-Hike Odds

U.S. August CPI rose 0.4% month on month and 3.4% year on year, matching forecasts. Monthly core CPI increased 0.3%, above the 0.2% estimate. CME FedWatch put the probability of a 0.25-point September rate increase at 88.7% after the release.
