Is India's internet boom running into an undersea problem?

At least 13 of India's 18 intercontinental subsea cables land within six kilometres of Mumbai's Versova coast and carry up to 95% of its international bandwidth toward Europe, Africa and West Asia. The BBC reports that ageing cables, no domestic repair ship and complex approvals are increasing risks for India's growing digital economy and AI infrastructure.
